About me
The story behind Alternativa Positiva
My story with the mountains
I've loved the outdoors since I was a child. Growing up surrounded by nature taught me to appreciate the small moments: the sound of wind through the trees, the smell of damp earth, the satisfaction of reaching a summit.
When I had kids, instead of stopping, I adapted the trails so they could enjoy them too. That's how this project was born: sharing real excursions, tested with children, so other families feel inspired to discover nature together.
Why this blog?
For years I searched for trails online and often the information was incomplete: it didn't say if it was suitable for kids, the actual elevation gain, or if there were water fountains along the way. I created Alternativa Positiva to share practical and honest information about every hike we do.
How I choose the trails
I look for trails that are safe and entertaining for kids. I make sure they have something special: a waterfall, a hanging bridge, a magical forest, caves… something that keeps the little ones motivated along the way.
I also consider logistics: where to park, if there's a picnic area, the best time of year to go… Everything I'd want to know before heading out.
Philosophy
"Nature is not a luxury, it is a necessity of the human spirit, as vital as water or bread." — Edward Abbey
I firmly believe that nature is the best classroom and the best playground. Children who grow up connected to the environment develop respect, curiosity and a strength that stays with them for life.
Let's talk!
